CheerDance is an enthusiastic, encouraging and empowering recreational cheerleading programme which has been running since 2018. Our aim is to provide an environment where children feel confident and inspired within all areas of cheerleading. What is Cheerleading? Cheerleading is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK. It is a team based sport which involves stunting (lifts), tumbling (gymnastics skills), jumps & dance across a combination of both individual and group skills. These skills are used to create a routine which can be used in performances, competitions and more. Recreational cheerleading allows children to experience all aspects of cheerleading without the pressures of competition. Sessions will include all previous skills as well as walkovers and development towards handsprings, gut, prep and extension level stunts as well as tosses, jumps, and dance (with & without pom poms). All cheerleaders have the opportunity to take part in several performances throughout the year, including our winter and summer showcase. Our showcases will bring together children from the CheerDance Programme and our after school clubs to celebrate their achievements and perform to family and friends. Our sessions are tailored to meet their individual needs in an environment where they feel safe. We have found that children who attend at least one of our after-school clubs each term improve by an average of 18% more across the whole PE curriculum in comparison to those who do not.
Camp notes
We are delighted to let you know that our CheerDance Camp is back this summer – for one exciting day only!
Join us on Tuesday 22nd July at Hillview Primary School, Gloucester, GL3 3LH for a full day of cheerleading fun, energy, and teamwork.
Just like before, our camps are designed to be full of choice, confidence-building, skill development, and—most importantly—enjoyment!
Children will take part in a full day of CheerDance activities, including:
- Stunting
- Tumbling
- Dance
- Jumps & Kicks
- Cheer routines
- Games and team-building challenges
- Full use of our inflatable Tumble equipment to help children safely learn and improve their skills!
Whether your child is brand new to cheer or already part of a squad, our camp is designed to support and inspire all abilities in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment. Every child will be made to feel welcome and very much part of the team.
Our focus is on building confidence, creativity, fitness, and friendships, while making sure every child goes home with a smile!
We welcome all children from 4 - 14 years (no previous cheer experience is required).
Please note: Reception-aged children (Year R) may attend for half days only, in line with childcare regulations.
Before signing up, please make yourself aware of our general T\&Cs which can be found on our ClassForKids page. In addition to these, please ensure your child attends with:
- Suitable dance/sportswear and trainers
- A packed lunch
- A refillable water bottle
- Any required medication or care plans
